For over 20 years, the Bay Film Series has celebrated the art of filmmaking, bringing the best in international, documentary, independent and local movies to the southern UP. This semester we continue with another slate of audience- and critically-acclaimed titles.

Finishing up the Fall 2017 roster on December 7th, we end with VICTORIA AND ABDUL starring Dame Judi Dench, Ali Fazal, and Eddie Izzard. The plot is based upon the extraordinary true story of an unexpected friendship between the long-reigning Queen Victoria and a young Indian clerk, come to London to participate in the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance that her household and inner circle attempt to destroy. As the friendship deepens, the Queen begins to see a changing world through new eyes and joyfully reclaims her humanity. As this film will not be released in theaters for a few weeks yet, there are no reviews or ratings.

All Film Series movies are shown on Thursdays in the Besse Center Theater at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $5 and are available at the box office or can be purchased online.  Students with valid ID can get a reduced admission charge of $2.
