Strings on the Bay at Bay de Noc Community College continues with its second of three concerts at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, July 17th, at the Besse Center Theater at Bay College.

This concert is a celebration for music director Paul Lundin as it is his 25th anniversary of bringing chamber music to Escanaba as part of Bay College's "Strings on the Bay" series. Mr. Lundin has invited back Detroit Symphony pianist Rob Conway and cellist Andrea Yun from Ann Arbor.

Yun is an active performer and also teaches privately in Ann Arbor. She has performed in orchestras such as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Michigan Opera Theater and has served as principal of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, Flint Symphony and Laredo Philharmonic (TX). Andrea has taught as Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of Texas at San Antonio and was adjunct faculty at Bowling Green State University. She has her doctorate from the University of Michigan.

Conway is an associate professor of piano at Wayne State University and has performed regularly with the Detroit Symphony since 1989. He has served as an Artistic Ambassador of the United States Information Agency on a tour of South Asia and the Middle East in 1997, as well as acting as a Department of State Cultural Envoy to Jamaica in 2005 and Azerbaijan in 2008. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has appeared at many national and international festivals, performed concertos with many orchestras, collaborated with prestigious composers, given countless premieres, and been featured on several recordings on numerous labels. Mr. Conway has a doctorate from the University of Michigan.

Strings on the Bay was first a series in Manistique started in 1968 by violinist and musicologist Dr. Robert King. When King took a position at Bay College, local musician and Bay College board member Arol Beck encouraged him to bring these performances to Escanaba, so in 1980 the concert series was shared with Escanaba audiences as well. This Tuesday's concert will include a work performed on the first summer's offerings in Manistique in 1968 – the Trio in B Major by Johannes Brahms. This concert will feature works by Faure, Beethoven, and Haydn as well. Please join us for this special celebratory concert!

Tickets for this performance are available on the Bay College website and at the box office of the Besse Center during business hours or immediately prior to the concert. The admission price is $5 for students and faculty and $10 for adults. A reception follows the concert. The last program of the series will be held on Tuesday, August 7th.
